Nikki Woollard

Founder & Artistic Director, Footlights Theatre Workshop

Following my three-year training as an actress at Mountview Theatre School, I have enjoyed a wide and varied career in theatre and TV spanning over 20 years.

At Footlights Theatre Workshop I now find myself surrounded by children and young adults who continue to inspire me with their amazing imaginations and creativity. Laughter is a very important ingredient in class and if it’s not fun we don’t do it!

As well as teaching workshops and summer schools, I also direct in local primary school productions – Cinderella, Star Warts and Alice in Wonderland are but a few.

Stage Door at Beauty & The BeastAs an active member of the community, I have been involved in bringing to life and performing children’s favourite stories with fellow local actors and mums for the Streatham Festival, charity fun days and other local events.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the shyest of children grow in confidence through classes at Footlights Theatre Workshop. Suddenly they find their voices, lead improvisations and have no inhibitions in front of their friends. It is amazing to see the transformation.
